The Detroit Manpower Movement is a call to action to all men in the city of Detroit to step and up play an active, personal role in saving our neighborhoods, our families and our children. It is a call that recognizes that we (our community, our city our families and our children) are in a state of crisis. It is a call that urges men to become actively involved in organizations and efforts that can help our young people, particularly young men, to avoid the pitfalls and temptations that lead to poor academic achievement, under employment or unemployment, dysfunctional families and lives in and out of the criminal justice system.
